On a multi-master cluster the lite topic count was therefore read from one arbitrary broker instead of the sum across the masters reporting the parent, and each group backlog was queried on a broker that may not own that group, silently reading zero. Remember which master reported each group (and which masters report the parent) during discovery, then sum getParentTopicInfo counts across the reporting masters and query each group lag on the brokers that reported it.
