The catch now clears items and total and sets a loadFailed flag that renders a persistent error Alert whose retry re-runs the current filters; a successful load clears the flag. Test: NotificationDeliveriesPage.test.tsx rejects the reload after a status change and pins the cleared rows, the absence of the old retry action, the persistent alert and its filter-preserving retry (red on the unmodified tree, green after the fix).
