## What is the purpose of the change An offset-reset preview could report that a Group and Topic are safe to reset even when the selected instance does not own them. The subsequent reset checks both resources and rejects the same request with 409, making the preview misleading. ## Brief changelog - Apply the same Group and Topic ownership checks used by reset before calling the preview provider. - Pass the guard's canonical instance name to the provider. - Add regressions for foreign Group and foreign Topic ownership. ## Verifying this change - `cd server && mvn -q -Dtest=MetadataServiceTest,ConsumerGroupControllerTest,ResourceOwnershipGuardTest test` (108 passed). - `cd server && mvn -q -DskipTests compile` (passed). - `cd server && mvn -q -DskipTests checkstyle:check` (passed). - `git diff --check` (passed). - No live Broker or database integration run; the ownership and provider paths were tested with mocks. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
