The fix stays minimal on purpose — swapping the replacement string for a replacer function means only the four special sequences (`$&`, `` $` ``, `$'`, `$$`) change behaviour, which are exactly the cases where the old code silently rewrote a parameter value in the rendered message (e.g. a topic literally named `cost$&`). Plain interpolation, nested params, and missing keys behave exactly as before; the new tests cover both locales. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
