### Before Creating the Bug Report - [x] I have searched the [open issues](https://github.com/apache/rocketmq-dashboard/issues) of this repository and believe that this is not a duplicate. - [x] This is a defect in RocketMQ Studio, not a usage question and not a defect in another Apache RocketMQ repository. - [x] I can reproduce this on the current `master` branch, or I have stated the exact version I am running below. ### Studio Version Originally reported on rocketmq-studio on 2026-09-23. Current PR #5025 head 86ec3e87f9c8ad0c5fcfd20250638cb9133ce5ae was validated on 2026-10-10 against 7360f3e2b921604c9bfe5163d89da51dfde3bf7d. The dated results below are published evidence, not new October 12 tests. ### Runtime Environment Studio frontend, browser viewport 375 CSS px wide. October 10 validation used real desktop Chromium rendering with synthetic mock fixtures at measured CSS widths of 320, 375, 767, 768, 1280 and 1440px; no mobile-device/touch-emulation claim. ### Connected RocketMQ Cluster No live RocketMQ cluster or MySQL is needed for the MainLayout shell reproduction. ### Build Toolchain _No response_ ### Describe the Bug This continues #5024 → #5548. github-actions[bot] closed #5548 on 2026-10-12 at 00:22:18 UTC for seven days without issue activity: https://github.com/apache/rocketmq-dashboard/issues/5548#issuecomment-6115549563 . This was an inactivity closure, not a maintainer rejection. MainLayout reserves a fixed 220px desktop sidebar and a 280px header search control. At a 375px viewport, roughly 155px remains for the main column and the header controls clip. Scope is the MainLayout navigation/header shell only. Page-specific filters and content are tracked separately in open #6063. This continuation does not merge that broader work into this report or claim app-wide responsiveness. Existing Ready PR #5025 remains open and unmerged; no new PR is needed. ### Steps to Reproduce 1. Open the Studio web app (for example /instance/message) at a 375px-wide viewport on the reported implementation. 2. Observe the 220px fixed sidebar and 280px top-bar search control. 3. Compare available main-column width and header bounds with a desktop viewport. ### What Did You Expect to See? At narrow widths the main column gets the viewport width, navigation stays accessible through a menu/drawer, and search/language/theme/user controls fit. Preserve desktop sidebar behavior. This does not require every page-specific control to be responsive. ### What Did You See Instead? The sidebar consumes most of a narrow viewport and the fixed-width header search causes shell controls to clip. ### Additional Context ### Existing review and revision The October 10 review accepted the shell approach conditionally and requested separating page controls, explaining the breakpoint, and real visual verification: https://github.com/apache/rocketmq-dashboard/pull/5025#pullrequestreview-5477880966 . The published response at https://github.com/apache/rocketmq-dashboard/pull/5025#issuecomment-6094758517 records head 86ec3e87f9c8ad0c5fcfd20250638cb9133ce5ae. It withdraws message.tsx changes; the net diff is MainLayout, its CSS/tests and the navigation-button translation. The complementary 767/768px thresholds are MainLayout-specific, not an approved app-wide convention. #6063 remains the separate page-controls follow-up. ### Dated validation (2026-10-10) 56 focused tests passed; TypeScript and formatting passed; lint had zero errors and ten warnings. Real Chromium checks at 320/375/767/768/1280/1440 CSS px verified sidebar/main-column widths and header bounds, repeated drawer opening, Close/Escape, route-selection dismissal, the 767→768 transition, search navigation and Back/Forward. Narrow home-page content still clips. No app-wide or physical mobile-device coverage is claimed. Published-head CI https://github.com/apache/rocketmq-dashboard/actions/runs/38031426190 : 1506 frontend tests and four license-script tests passed; Go passed. Normal/Docker frontend builds failed at final artifact-license verification; Backend Build failed at the binary-license gate; Backend Tests ran 3395 tests with 3394 passed and one unchanged H2 concurrency-test error. Overall CI is not green. Searched references to #5548 and sidebar/header reports before filing; no newer equivalent continuation was found. The existing PR remains awaiting re-review, with no new approval or merge claimed. AI assistance was used. ### Are You Willing to Submit a Pull Request? - [x] Yes, I am willing to submit a pull request. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
