Glen Mazza closed ROL-1233.
---------------------------
Resolution: Fixed
I don't think this problem exists anymore with later versions of Roller. Even
w/3.1, if the browser cookie expires I just need to log in again and then my
changes are saved.
> Losing content when editing entries
> -----------------------------------
>
> Key: ROL-1233
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ROL-1233
> Project: Roller
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: Weblog Editor
> Affects Versions: 2.3
> Environment: WM Ware ESX, Linux Red Hat
> Reporter: Monique Limbos
> Assignee: Roller Unassigned
> Priority: Minor
>
> When I edit a new entry, and work for a while, and then want to save my work
> (to draft for instance), I get an error message and lose all changes made. I
> suppose there is a configurable timeout somwhere but thats not the reason I
> complain ...
> In fact, I'am first asked to reenter my login/password, which I do. Then the
> message appears. It says that permission is denied for one of a number of
> reasons.
> 1. The login/password is incorrect; it's not the case.
> 2. I'am trying to save information from a stale page (Yes probably) created
> with different credentials. In my case the credentials are the same
> 3 and 4 relate to the configuration of the product.
> My feeling is that I fit to case 2, and that there is a bug here because,
> using the correct credentials should allow me to save my entry even if the
> page is stale. That or the message is misleading.
