After updating the kafka-clients dependency, I've got all tests passing (but
not being able to try the integration tests, see SAMZA-970) and I'm about to
start actually putting the new producer/consumer in, after validating backwards
compatibility can be maintained.
While still a work in progress, it would be good to get a RFC going as I'm not
only new the codebase, but also new to scala (and Java to some extent :) )..
What's the best way to share my WIP? Via a the review board, or via github?
