The license-gradle-plugin that we currently use for release audit checks is not
very flexible and does not provide an easy way to make exceptions for files
like SVG and Jekyll content files (see SAMZA-92).
Other Apache projects make use use of Apache Rat but usually with Ant or Maven.
However, it does appear that it is possible to use Rat with Gradle:
