Thanks @nzw921rx 🚀 Agreed. Let me state the minimal Phase 1 boundary explicitly. In scope - Source-side document routing via SourceSplitEnumerator only. - Markdown file source as the single reference implementation. - Gated by markdown_rag_metadata_enabled: whole-document splits routed to deterministic buckets by stable document_id hash. Out of scope - Non-Markdown sources and Markdown without RAG metadata keep the existing round-robin behavior. - No generic/engine-level keyed exchange, no sink → sink exchange, no other connectors, no checkpoint-gated lifecycle.
