Rechecked the same unchanged head `d14cb25d0b98` after the CI / merge-gate
fact changed.
## Runtime path rechecked

source marks schema-change-before checkpoint
-> checkpoint completes
-> old sink task sets drain-ready=true in memory
-> failure happens before the real SchemaChangeEvent is fully processed
-> restore starts from that completed checkpoint
-> source resumes after the before-watermark record
-> new sink guard starts from false again
-> current head can still reject the legitimate schema event after recovery

## Merge conclusion
### Conclusion: still needs fixes before merge
1. Blocking items
- The source-side blockers from my previous Daniel review still stand on
this unchanged head.
2. Current gate update
- The CI / merge-gate fact I referenced earlier has changed. The current
status is `PENDING gate: Build`:

So my technical conclusion is unchanged on merge readiness: this PR still
needs the earlier code-side fixes first.
