Draft PR #11493 now carries the focused JSON logical-type implementation and links this discussion as its closing issue. I removed `help wanted` because the work is actively owned and already in progress. The implementation currently spans the API type contract, JSON serialization, Spark and Calcite translation, and native JSON or VARIANT mappings for Doris, StarRocks, and Snowflake. The issue should remain open while the design is validated through the PR: the current-head Build is failing, review is pending, and real Snowflake validation is still outstanding before the PR can leave Draft.
