## What changed - Replaced the remaining GitHub CI JDK 8 lanes with JDK 17 in backend, CodeQL, publish-docker, and upgrade-compatibility workflows. - Kept the existing JDK 11 matrix entries so the PR compares current coverage against a JDK 17 lane instead of dropping all prior signal. - Switched legacy `setup-java@v2 + adopt` workflow steps to `setup-java@v4 + temurin` where needed so failures reflect JDK 17 compatibility instead of retired toolchain setup. ## Why - I want this PR to surface Java 17 incompatibilities through GitHub CI instead of continuing to validate those lanes on JDK 8. - Workflow file changes are classified into the `api=true` path by `.github/workflows/backend.yml`, so this PR should trigger the broad backend CI matrix on JDK 17. ## Validation - `./mvnw spotless:apply` -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
