This has now been implemented in PR #11670, which was merged into on August 7, 2026. So this is no longer an open bug in the current development branch.\n\nIf anyone still sees the old pre-created Iceberg table-directory behavior after pulling the latest , please update the thread with the exact failing test path and we can continue from there.
