DanielLeens opened a new pull request, #11887: URL: https://github.com/apache/seatunnel/pull/11887
### Purpose of this pull request Supersedes #11002 so this release-blocking MongoDB cleanup fix can receive a fresh CI run. This PR preserves the original functional change and regression test from @preko-p. Its sole commit retains the original Git author metadata: ``` preko06 <[email protected]> original commit: e7a4b61eb14f78d1e5418dab06ff4d2dbfff93ef ``` When cursor creation fails before `cursor` is assigned, `pollNext()` still executes `closeCurrentSplit()` in its `finally` block. The null guard prevents cleanup from masking the original MongoDB exception with a secondary `NullPointerException`. ### Validation - Rechecked the patch against the current `apache:dev` baseline; the target cleanup path is unchanged and the test file does not yet exist. - This branch contains only the original reader cleanup and its two regression tests. - GitHub CI is required for compile/test/runtime proof. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
