At head 8699e743, the close/retry test no longer races its own HTTP fixture: the client can reject a 503 after reading status, before the server finishes writing a body. The fixture now sends a bodyless 503 and waits until the reader reaches the retry wait before closing it. No production code changed. The Java 11 connector module passed 28/28 tests, with three additional repetitions of the formerly failing case. Local Java 8 Mockito initialization is blocked by this Mac's old Oracle JDK, so hosted JDK 8 remains the platform check.
