Classification: F / JSON-format Maxwell parse-error handling. The reported path is credible: `convertBytes` can return `null` when parse errors are ignored, while the caller immediately dereferences the JSON node. #12866 is the implementation and review lane. Its current Build requires action, so please keep the strict-rejection, ignored-malformed-input, and valid-record regressions in that PR and resolve CI there.
