Classification: A / Transform-V2 SQL `CAST` decimal rounding semantics. The inconsistency is confirmed in current `SystemFunction`: DECIMAL and string inputs use `RoundingMode.CEILING`, while float and double inputs use `HALF_UP`. Thus identical values can produce different results solely because of their input type. #12920 is the focused implementation lane. This is a behavior change for narrowing decimal casts, so the EN/ZH incompatible-changes entry and SQL-function documentation are required. Keep `CEIL`, `CEILING`, `FLOOR`, `ROUND`, and `TRUNC` untouched. The tests should cover positive/negative values, exact ties, below-half cases, and DECIMAL/string/float/double sources through the SQL transform. Please continue in #12920. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service. To respond to the message, please log on to GitHub and use the URL above to go to the specific comment.
