This is a cleaner way and should fix up the "escaped escape-char" case (i.e.
handle "//" as a single "/")
```

if (isKeyValueSeparatorChar(c) && !isCharEscaped(line, i) &&
!isCharEscaped(line, i-1)) {

} else if (!isCharEscaped(line, i) || !isCharEscaped(line, i-1) ){
// Allow escaped escape character
