Apache SIS is developed in 3 branches with the following version numbers:
* {{master}} has version {{1.0-SNAPSHOT}}
* {{geoapi-3.1}} branch has version {{dev-1.0-SNAPSHOT}}
* {{geoapi-4.0}} branch also has version {{dev-1.0-SNAPSHOT}}
Having two branches with the same version number is confusing. Furthermore
those numbers said nothing about the targeted version numbers for the release
of those branches. The proposal [discussed on the mailing

is:
* {{geoapi-3.1}} branch uses version {{1.x-SNAPSHOT}}
* {{geoapi-4.0}} branch uses version {{2.0-SNAPSHOT}}
