@pan3793 - This was exactly [my original suggestion](https://github.com/apache/spark-website/pull/696#issuecomment-4773921749). However, @cloud-fan wanted to take a more conservative approach so as not to completely change the current workflow that committers are familiar with. I am happy to help with either approach. Setting up a staging site (or multiple staging sites, one per branch) is also a good idea and orthogonal to splitting the source from the HTML output.
