It turns out the feature is indeed in use (missed that because dependent
projects were relying on older version of web.base). Dislike the design as it
ties the otherwise more generic NavigationLink to a media-type, a templating
system and a template locating mechanism. Also it is not defined what values
can be accessed from that template.
