Currently the geonames.org indexer create uris such as

     http://sws.geonames.org/3675707

however typically 

    http://sws.geonames.org/3675707/

is used.

While this does not make a difference when resolving the URIs on the web it 
does cause problems for triple stores, as those systems do not automatically 
deal with tailing slashes (as most Web-Server configurations).
