The banner image and target are managed remotely by ASF Marketing and Publicity via snippet.js, so the footer now carries the same acevent markup as the previous site and the static pill is gone. The EVENTS link in the ASF band points to events.apache.org, one of the targets the Whimsy site checker recognises.
