I think it’s an open question whether keeping track of how many datums each
providers provides, processor processes, and persister persists should be the
responsibility of those classes or of whatever framework is calling them.
Doing so complicates the code, slows execution, and is pretty much pointless
for many deployments where components are embedded within a runtime framework
that has it's own system for keeping track of such things.
