Howard M. Lewis Ship commented on TAP5-186:
-------------------------------------------
I know people are allergic to Maven, but even so, the maven-archetype is a
great way to get started, especially the 5.1.0.0 version that provides a lot
more infrastructure to your application.
> Provide something like tapestry-blank.war

> Key: TAP5-186
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/TAP5-186
> Project: Tapestry 5
> Issue Type: Improvement
> Affects Versions: 5.0.15
> Reporter: Igor Drobiazko
> Priority: Minor
>
> The maven archetype is a great possibility to learn Tapestry for users who
> are familiar with Maven.
> But there is no possibility to start Tapestry app in an easy way for people
> not using Maven.
> It would be great to have something like tapestry-blank.war which one could
> drop into Tomcat and start to learn Tap.
> I think it would be enough to provide the result of the archetype for every
> release and to make it available on the homepage.
> I strongly believe that such war file would make a lot of people overcome
> their inhibitions to use Tapestry.
> Otherwise the maven antipathy results in a Tapestry antipathy for a certain
> group of developers.
