Actually Palette component is initalized using this portion of code:
renderSupport.addScript("new Tapestry.Palette('%s', %s, %s);", clientId, 
reorder, naturalOrder);

In order to be less dependent from a particular JS framework, it should be done 
using :
renderSupport.addInit(...);
