Howard M. Lewis Ship closed TAP5-800.
-------------------------------------
Resolution: Fixed
Fix Version/s: 5.4
Assignee: Howard M. Lewis Ship
As part of the refresh in 5.4, the Autocompleter was rewritten, and is now
based on the Bootstrap Typeahead component, and no longer has this issue;
server-side failures are reported the same as any other Ajax-related request.
> Server side error during provideCompletions event for Autocompleter mixin is
> not reported on the client side properly

> You would expect that the console would be raised to display the Ajax error
> (as happens with, say, a Zone update) but instead you get no notification and
> some wierd presentation oddities (I believe because the autocompleter is
> expecting an <UL> markup snippet, and instead recieves the exception report
> page!).
> It may just be time to find a complete replacement for the
> Scriptaculous.Autocompleter.
