commit 435835bfcabc039519eea9f0252b5845198eb5d5 Author: Cole Greer <[email protected]> AuthorDate: Fri May 29 10:45:06 2026 -0700 Clarify port 8182 conflict message in process-docs.sh The ':remote connect' docs blocks target localhost:8182. Any process occupying that port (stale Gremlin Server or an unrelated service) causes our server to fail binding while nc -z still passes, so the console connects to the wrong service and WebSocket handshakes fail. Updated the fail-fast message to not assume the cause is a stale server and to point at lsof for identifying the actual process. --- bin/process-docs.sh | 15 ++++++++++----- 1 file changed, 10 insertions(+), 5 deletions(-) diff --git a/bin/process-docs.sh b/bin/process-docs.sh index 03eff0717d..ea5345900d 100755 --- a/bin/process-docs.sh +++ b/bin/process-docs.sh @@ -151,12 +151,17 @@ cp "${HADOOP_CONF_SRC}/hadoop-docs.properties" "${CONSOLE_HOME}/conf/" echo "Starting Gremlin Server..." mkdir -p target -# Fail fast if port 8182 is already in use (likely a stale server from a -# previous run).
