Thanks @zhuwenxi. I still think the original proposal is better. Especially in the case of (rare) nested parallel loops(parallel inside parallel). Notably performance-wise we are allocating the stack at the beginning of the current function(rather than the calling site), so it comes from the thread-local stack.
