OK, this makes things a little clearer.

So it seems Websphere doesn't properly pass on the query string parameter to 
the filter.
Yeah, should have figured that out earlier. Websphere and ServletFilter 
handling is notorious problematic if not downright broken mostly :(
The *required* behavior has been very explicitly described in the Portlet 
specification (2.0): PLT.19.1.1 Query Strings in Request Dispatcher Paths.

Although the following "fix" is about a different use-case, if you google 
"com.ibm.ws.webcontainer.invokefilterscompatibility" you'll find its been used 
and applied by just about every application/framework needing proper filter 
handling in Websphere, so I suggest trying it out and see if it helps here too:

If you already tried that and it still doesn't work I'm a bit out of ideas how 
to solve this "properly" without providing some kind of ugly hack.
This clearly looks like a bug in Websphere which *IBM* should fix, not Wicket 
in my opinion.
