urls to such resources are not served by wicket, but by the servlet container
directly. your problem is most likely there.
if you look at the url and it doesnt look like /resources/<some class
name>/resource-name.ext then it is not served by wicket and wicket does not
touch it. your problem may be websphere or bea.
