Closing Modal Window causes data loss

After closing a Modal Window in which changes are made to the models for
components on the main page, the changes are lost. Between the time that
ModalWindow.close() is called and the main window's onClose() callback is
called, the version of the main page and the models have been changed and none
of the changes made in the Modal Window are available to the new version.
