Closing this, since IcebergConversionSource.isIncrementalSyncSafeFrom returns false when the snapshot chain is broken by an expired snapshot, so the sync falls back to a snapshot sync. testForIncrementalSyncSafetyCheck in ITIcebergConversionSource covers this case. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
