I'm probably a bit late to the party, but I just stumbled across
OpenTelemetry, OpenTracing and OpenCensus' effort to [merge their
projects](https://medium.com/opentracing/merging-opentracing-and-opencensus-f0fe9c7ca6f0)
 and bundle their powers.

I know Zipkin doesn't have anything to do with both (or not anymore, at
least), but seeing as OpenTelemetry's goal is mainly to "reduce the number of
instrumentation standards to one", I'm wondering where Zipkin stands in all of
this, being, in my opinion, the most widespread of the currently existing
projects, having that extensive list of supported languages and frameworks.
