All,
We should clean up some of our old releases out of the dist area. Note
that old releases (all of the way back to 0.1.0 are available on from the
archive https://archive.apache.org/dist/hadoop/common/ .

The current contents:

   - hadoop-1.2.1
   - hadoop-2.6.5
   - hadoop-2.7.4
   - hadoop-2.7.5
   - hadoop-2.8.1
   - hadoop-2.8.2
   - hadoop-2.8.3
   - hadoop-2.9.0
   - hadoop-3.0.0
   - hadoop-3.0.0-alpha4
   - hadoop-3.0.0-beta1

The Apache Release Process
https://www.apache.org/legal/release-policy.html says
that we should only keep the latest release on each branch. That would take
us to:

   - hadoop-1.2.1
   - hadoop-2.6.5
   - hadoop-2.7.5
   - hadoop-2.8.3
   - hadoop-2.9.0
   - hadoop-3.0.0

Branch-1.2 last received a commit in 2014. I'd propose that we remove it.

   - hadoop-2.6.5
   - hadoop-2.7.5
   - hadoop-2.8.3
   - hadoop-2.9.0
   - hadoop-3.0.0

Since the remaining branches (2.6, 2.7, 2.8, 2.9, and 3.0) all have commits
within the last couple months, we should probably keep them.

Thoughts?

Owen
