Thanks for the patch, [~brahma]!
The patch is semantically equivalent to reverting HADOOP-11361. I think it
makes more sense to simply revert and reopen that other JIRA, otherwise
committing this patch should retrigger to the original reason HADOOP-11361 was
filed.
