Resolution: Won't Fix
This is obviously too late to do. We keep moving this out between releases -
there is little value in doing this now given how far behind 1.x is in the
rear-view mirror.
I am going to close this one for now as 'Won't Fix' as part of the 2.8 JIRA
cleanup. Please reopen if you disagree.
