OK, I've reviewed one of the PRs. Let's go with that one for now, once it's in
then the other can be derved.

Assuming you've been using this, have you any statistics on the performance hit
of the different SSE options? In particular, how much slower is a
GET-with-range request? We ought to know this and then cover it in the docs
