useful utility operations which would simplify code
# a FileUtils.deleteQuietly(fs, Path...) which deletes all listed paths and
swallows exceptions
# a FileUtils.deleteOrFail(fs, Path...) which raises an exception if a delete
fails and there is a file leftover
