Patch 004 is a rebase after the recent S3A commits. I verified once again that
all tests pass against an S3 bucket in US-west-2.
[~ste...@apache.org] and [~fabbri], I have changed target version to 2.9.0.
I'd like to proceed with getting this into trunk and branch-2.
