Steve Loughran commented on HADOOP-13570:
-----------------------------------------

This is a duplicate of HADOOP-11614 ; closing this one.

We do need to move off the old httpclient; any contributions here are welcome.
The patch on the other JIRA should be a starting point.

Before you go near swift, make sure you have a setup to test the swift client
against as many infrastructures as you can, including any private ones you have
nearby. That way it's easy to identify regressions in the code.

As with all object store patches: they don't get reviewed unless you explicitly
state which infrastructures the tests successfully ran against.

> Current Hadoop openstack module is still using apache httpclient v1.x. It is
> too old. We need to update it to a higher version to catch up in performance.
