Steve Loughran commented on HADOOP-13662:
-----------------------------------------
Jackson is [one of the JARs we are most scared
of|http://steveloughran.blogspot.co.uk/2016/05/fear-of-dependencies.html].
amazon-aws depends on jackson too, so a full hadoop-aws test run is going to
have to be a (manual) part of the patch test.
The last update broke HBase —has this version update been discussed there? Is
there a JIRA it can be linked to?
it may also needs collaboration with Spark, who are already on a 2.4.x version,
and Flink.
* Also, see comments on HADOOP-13569 about field settings & links to
HADOOP-9991 .
...actually, looking at HADOOP-9991 there's already an open JIRA on upgrading
Jackson; closing this as a duplicate & awaiting your patch there. As all
dependency updates should be linked to that, it's the place to check to see if
there are already outstanding JIRAs on a specific JAR.
