Thanks to Akira and Jason for helping with the review, I've committed my patch
at HDFS-11498 to take us back to Netty 4.0.
Based on my testing, the patch here should still be a pom-only change, though I
don't think there's a need for it now. Based on the above feedback from Duo,
HBase seems okay with excluding. The Netty 4.0 release line is also still
supported, and AFAIK we don't have a need for any new Netty 4.1 features.
Shall we close this JIRA as "Later" or "Not a Problem"?
