[~vinishavyasa], I'd say you need to set {{fs.AbstractFileSystem.sftp.impl}} or
{{fs.sftp.impl}} (not sure which one) to
{{org.apache.hadoop.fs.sftp.SFTPFileSystem}} in {{core-site.xml}}.
