Mingliang Liu commented on HADOOP-14862:
----------------------------------------
Metrics2 was designed for Hadoop daemons so I don't like the AzureFS approach
to collecting metrics in that way. I like S3AFS with a good design of metrics,
supporting FileSystemStorageStatistics and handy instrumentation. Ping

> Key: HADOOP-14862
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-14862
> Project: Hadoop Common
> Issue Type: Sub-task
> Components: fs/adl
> Affects Versions: 2.8.0
> Reporter: John Zhuge
>
> Add a Metrics2 source {{AdlFileSystemInstrumentation}} for {{AdlFileSystem}}.
> Consider per-thread statistics data if possible. Atomic variables are not
> totally free in multi-core arch. Don't think Java can do per-cpu data
> structure.
