Hey guys I actually ran some benchmarks to measure the performance of
encryption for NameNode RPCs.
I jsut used NNThoughputBenchmark, which you can now run against a real
NameNode. So I would start a stand-alone NN with different security settings
and run NNThroughput from a different machine. Would that be a good enough
bechmark? Are you targeting other than NN RPCs here?
BTW the ecnrypted RPC performance was not good, although not 25x either, but
definitely worth optimizing.
