Allen Wittenauer commented on HADOOP-15190:
-------------------------------------------
I'd probably need to play with it a bit. Based upon what I'm seeing in the
patch, if JaCoCo can only generate aggregate data, that's going to have a
pretty big impact.
For the initial Yetus implementation I have for OpenClover, I target running
only in the QBT report and using the percentage as a grade. Eventually working
up to something more sophisticated ... take the per-module reports generated
from the QBT run and compare during the unit test runs of patches to get a +/-
%.
But I kind of stopped working on it as other things have taken priority and I
wasn't getting much traction with the openclover patch for Hadoop.

> Currently Hadoop is using maven-clover2-plugin for code coverage, which is
> outdated. And Atlassian open-sourced clover last year so license cannot be
> purchased although we can switch to use the license-free version called
> "openclover".
> This Jira is to replace clover with Jacoco, which is actively maintained by
> the community.
