Gabor Bota commented on HADOOP-15251:
-------------------------------------

I checked branch-2, and the following appears:
381e5161479 [Steve Loughran] 2016-10-27 Revert "HADOOP-13514. Upgrade maven
surefire plugin to 2.19.1. Contributed by Ewan Higgs."
5d80b49602f [Steve Loughran] 2016-10-27 Revert "Addendum patch for HADOOP-13514
Upgrade maven surefire plugin to 2.19.1. Contributed by Akira Ajisaka."
0c96ceaca9d [Wei-Chiu Chuang] 2016-10-26 Addendum patch for HADOOP-13514
Upgrade maven surefire plugin to 2.19.1. Contributed by Akira Ajisaka.
6bb23a14b6f [Akira Ajisaka] 2016-10-25 HADOOP-13514. Upgrade maven surefire
plugin to 2.19.1. Contributed by Ewan Higgs.

So HADOOP-13514 has been committed and then reverted. I don't know if it would
be a good idea to apply again.

> Tests in branch-2 are not running reliably in Jenkins, and due to
> SUREFIRE-524, these are not being cleaned up properly (see HADOOP-15153).
> Upgrading to a more recent version of the surefire plugin will help make the
> problem easier to address in branch-2
