Eli Collins commented on HADOOP-6605:
-------------------------------------
Forgot to mention testing, since the unit tests don't cover this. I verified
with this change that:
# JAVA_HOME if set in conf/hadoop-env.sh takes precedence over the term env and
this detection
# JAVA_HOME if set by the term env takes precedence over this detection
# JAVA_HOME is now detected if installed w/o being set explicitly, and errs out
if none is detected
> Add JAVA_HOME detection to hadoop-config

> The commands that source hadoop-config.sh currently bail with an error if
> JAVA_HOME is not set. Let's detect JAVA_HOME (from a list of locations on
> various OS types) if JAVA_HOME is not already set by hadoop-env.sh or the
> environment. This way users don't have to manually configure it.
