Thomas Marquardt commented on HADOOP-15700:
-------------------------------------------

[~DanielZhou], two questions:

1) Can you confirm what Vishwajeet says above, that we can compile (using JDK
1.7) ABFS with a dependency on wildfly.openssl that targets JDK 1.8?

2) Is there any reason to back port wildfly.openssl to branch-2 if it cannot be
used?  I'm still not seeing why this change is needed.  At any rate, it should
be targeting branch-2 only.  Maybe I'm missing something?

> Failure to {{OpenSSLProvider.register()}} should fall back to default JSSE
> initialization. This is needed to support Java 7 in case the HADOOP-15669 is
> back-ported to support Java7.
